John Brumby's continued failure to establish a crime and corruption commission, especially after the ombudsman's explosive findings at Brimbank council, is a tacit admission that criminals have a foothold in the Victorian ALP and by extension, in the Victorian Government.
One of the most shocking revelations in the ombudsman's report is just how closely criminal elements are aligned with the upper reaches of Victoria's Labor government.
It is clear, based on the government's response to the Ombudsman's report, that the crimes perpetrated by Labor's Unity faction in Brimbank will go unpunished, and may well be rewarded. |

Brimbank Council is once again reviewing its ‘Meeting Procedure Local Law’ after only 2 years in operation. The law was expected to have a 10 year life span so SunRRA is wondering why Brimbank Council feels this review is so urgent.
Perhaps the changes proposed will tell us something?
The draft Local Law document states “The purpose of this Local Law is to provide for the election of the Mayor, regulate the use of the common seal, prohibit unauthorised use of the common seal, provide for the procedures governing the conduct of Council meetings and Special Committee meetings and set the rules of behaviour for those participating in or present at Council meetings and Special Committee meetings.”

The Sunshine Residents & Ratepayers Association Inc. took a stand against violence on Friday March 13th at 6 p.m. at Sunshine Railway Station (Bus Interchange).
SunRRA made a peaceful stand against violence and vicious gangs in our community demanding the State Government does more to protect our community. We invited residents to stand with us to send a strong message that our suburb and the people who live and work here are in desperate need of more police, increased security measures and well thought out tactics to curb the growing violence and attacks in our area.
The rally aptly named ‘Enough is Enough’ drew over 250 residents calling for more police and better security. |

SunRRA’s website has been in operation for almost 4 years and we regularly attract more than 1000 daily visits. One of the most popular features of our website is the SunRRA Forum, which enables people to discuss and debate any topic that concerns them. It's not uncommon for breaking news to appear first on the forum and perhaps that's why councillors, politicians and journalists log in for a read on a regular basis.
We've compiled another list of Top 10 topics that have generated the most interest, based on the most views. |

According to Brimbank Council’s media release dated 9th November 2007 Council obtained funding of $185,000 to install seven water tanks in Brimbank.
Despite receiving the funds three of these are still not operational 15 months later. Soon it will be February 2009 and the water tanks at Mambourin Enterprises, Brimbank Council Depot and Parsons Reserve, Sunshine, are erected but NOT connected.
Council’s media release states these three tanks “will save 1,069,850 litres of potable water each year” but you can kiss 2008’s savings good bye because they didn’t save anything.
SunRRA is demanding answers from Brimbank CEO Nick Foa and urging Council to complete installation of the tanks as a priority, next week not next month.
