With his program of social housing slum building now well under way, remember that Madden does not have the courage to face the voters of the west at the next elections. He will move to the safer seat of Essendon, which is still relatively unaffected by his dirty work.
The Brumby government is ruled by corrupt gangsters, such as the likes of Justin Madden. Beware the next state elections.

Looks like the Libs and the Greens have saved us from Mad Dog Madden's sleazy excesses. Let's hear it for democracy!
http://www.theage.com.au/national/rethink-on-outer-urban-expansion-20100104-lq5o.html
PLANS to open Melbourne's urban fringe for 150,000 new households appear doomed for the forseeable future, after the State Government and the Opposition failed to agree on a proposed development tax crucial to the city's expansion.
But the Government appears to have lost interest in compromising or re-introducing the bill later in the year. Planning Minister Justin Madden told The Age that the bill's defeat was likely to put redrawing of the boundary on the backburner.
Deferral of the charge will force Labor to go to the election with the promise of a new tax, along with controversial development encroaching into farm and grasslands.

The parties failed to agree because Labor is afraid of losing their seats, whilst the Libs will try to gain seats, since "rural" Victoria is not happy with the Brumby Govt. The Greens of course will also try to gain a few more seats but do not have a policy of their own over this. Open your eyes everyone it is the caucus of the parties in the back room of Parliament House.

http://www.theage.com.au/national/madden-fasttracks-38level-tower-in-melbournes-east-20100108-lyy5.html
THE State Government's fast-tracking of a 38-level tower in central Box Hill, as it tries to squeeze more housing into established suburbs, risks turning Melbourne into a Sydney-style mess of high-rises, critics say.
Planning Minister Justin Madden yesterday announced the ''call-in'' of a proposed $100 million housing and retail scheme, including a 38-level apartment and office tower near the Box Hill Central train station.
The Whitehorse Council refused planning permission for the proposal by developer the Barton Group last year, largely because of the inadequate public infrastructure to cater for it.

A list of sites obtained by the Geelong Advertiser yesterday, shows 86 social housing dwelling permits have been issued by State Planning Minister Justin Madden within the municipality in the past eight months.
This is in addition to a 91-unit development on Moorabool St, which earlier this week sparked controversy because the community knew nothing about it.
City of Greater Geelong councillor Stretch Kontelj said residents would be appalled by the designs and densities.

This is in addition to a 91-unit development on Moorabool St, which earlier this week sparked controversy because the community knew nothing about it.
City of Greater Geelong councillor Stretch Kontelj said residents would be appalled by the designs and densities.
"I've been advised by council officers the one on Marshall St is a shocker, that it's completely inappropriate and an overdevelopment of the site. There's to be clotheslines on the balconies.
"I've been told there is no way known council would have approved it if it had come up under normal planning processes and they advised the Government it was an inappropriate development."
Cr Kontelj said the Government had been elected on the promise of being transparent and had failed once again.
"Council is open to make a referral but the officers say our advice is completely ignored, and they are rubber stamped regardless of what our comments are."
Council CEO Stephen Griffin confirmed the council's involvement in the process was as a referral authority only.
Housing Minister Richard Wynne questioned Cr Kontelj's support of the provision of social housing but said the Government would continue to work with the council towards delivering public and social housing outcomes.

http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/vote-ends-plan-to-extend-city-limit-20100224-p106.html
THE state government has scrapped plans to expand Melbourne's outer limits after a tax on land sales in growth areas was defeated in the upper house last night.
Opposition planning spokesman Matthew Guy said the Coalition had wanted a levy imposed at the end of the planning process, not when land was purchased.
"[The bill's defeat] is great news for the thousands of landholders who would have faced financial ruin if Labor's plan succeeded."

We need in-fill development o protect our green wedges which are the lungs of our city - we do not need to give up parkland.
Braybrook is an example.. townhouses replacing homes on huge blocks

Did anyone see Justin on the telly tonite. What a hoot.
Somebody in his office sent internal briefing papers to the ABC by mistake, and gave us a good look at what happens in his department.
The papers included notes about a plan to renovate the Windsor hotel in the city, which Justin was dead against.
The notes said they would run a community consultation about it, and then use the results of that consultation to knock back the application.
How's that?
Ted was onto it straight away, talking about sham consultations but we already knew didn't we that it's HOW THE LABOR PARTY DOES THINGS.
GOOD ON YOU JUSTIN FOR SHOWING US THE WAY.
And now we know.

Here's the story
http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/heat-on-madden-over-windsor-hotel-sham-20100226-p670.html
PLANNING Minister Justin Madden has been rocked by a leaked document revealing a plan by his office to run a sham public consultation process over the future of the historic Windsor Hotel.
"Strategy at this stage is to release it [the report] for public comment as this affects the entire community and then use those responses as reason to halt it as we have listened to community views," it says.

http://respectthewest.wordpress.com/2010/02/26/dishonest-incompetent-justin-madden-must-be-sacked/
...........Yesterday confirmed what the community knew all along. Madden makes decisions off his own bat and all the requests for community submissions, council input and community CONsultation - are a complete sham. No matter how good or bad a project is and no matter what the impact is on local residents, Madden does as he pleases..............

That was hopelesss, kept calling Neil: John. He blames the whole fiasco repeatedly on Peta Duke. "That was not my strategy"
Interesting Peta Duke's Facebook page just disappeared.
But the cached version was still there.
So will the ALP pay her to keep her mouth shut and wear the damage, or will she speak out and tell us where the "strategy" came from.

What a fool Madden is. Listen to the audio - for starters he calls Neil Mitchell, Jon, probably 8 times. Neil Mitchell keeps having to correct him.
Madden acts totally confused and can't answer any questions about his own office or about the strategies coming out of his office. Mitchell asks about the "strategy" outlined in the document, and Madden can't say whose strategy it is.
He is the ultimate spin doctor. We know what Madden is all about - and I can't understand how he can sleep at night. First Hakki, now this media adviser - and Madden?? He knows nothing about any of the corruption and dishonesty that has emanated from his own office - it's like all this crap is happening in another world when you listen to Madden. It's coming out of his own office!
And what about Madden's scape goating??!! He is the master at that. It wasn't me, it was Hakki and I knew nothing about it. It wasn't me, it was my media adviser, and I knew nothing about it.
Madden makes me want to puke the way he laughs about some of this during the interview. He treats it as a joke. He is slime.
