Star News PHOTO SHOOT @ RSL Thurs Nov 19 5.30pm 9 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Neighbours,

The Star newspaper want to follow our campaign. They are organising a public protest photo shoot this Thursday, in front of the RSL probably at 5.30pm but we're trying to make it later so more people can attend. I will need to keep you posted, and as soon as they've confirmed a time I will put a notice on the protest board on Sickson street, opposite the RSL. We need as many faces as possible in that photo. So please tell your friends & neighbours, especially those without acess to email.
See you there.

Hey Gary,

Belle from the Star here.

We'd prefer to take our own if possible because that way we can get exactly what we want.

I hope that's okay with everyone.

Cheers

Hi,

I've spoken to my editor and if we can shoot for 5:30 on Thursday, it would be fantastic.

It doesn't have to be everyone but as many people as possible that can turn out.

Thanks heaps.

A decent turnout, hopefully some exposure sorely needed. Received a handout from the local RSL stating their side, basically saying that they welcome this development. I wonder whether they are really aware of what they are letting themselves in for. Social housing yes, but please, think about the context of placing it there.

These plans are an absolute abomination. The residents of Dickson, Centre and Gertrude St are in for months and months of blasting and jackhammers on that basalt escarpment. This plan could only have been devised with a profound hatred for Sunshine. Yes, minister.

Do you think Labor has seen the "Sunshine movement" as a threat to their power base, so they are now going to bring more Labor voters into the area by building all this social housing?

How can we find some maps showing the maldistribution of social housing across melbourne?

we all know there is heaps more in disadvantaged areas but where can we find the data and spatial maps to give to the media to prove our case that we are being dumped on from a great height? unfairly.

how are we ever expected to break out of the cycle of disadvantage when they keep tipping more and more needy people into an under serviced needy area?

unfair Kevin unfair john

Unfair Victoria Unfair Australia

whatever happened to the principle of "fair go mate"?

A Fair Go has been a key principle in Australian life from the early days.

Was.

The whole idea of a Fair Go has been wiped out in Victoria under Brumby and Madden.

Changes to FOI laws
Charges to individuals to make objections to issues
Remove all power from council and VCAT in planning decision so a rabid Minister can rubber stamp anything.
