Marsha Thomson has nailed her colours to the mast. Must be an election coming up.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/nation/no-respect-on-agenda-in-question-time/story-e6frg6nf-1225826096840

THE parliamentary secretary for justice was thrown out of the Victorian parliament for disrespectful behaviour just hours after helping Premier John Brumby launch the latest phase of the state government's "respect agenda".

Marsha Thomson, local member for Footscray in Melbourne's western suburbs, sat down yesterday morning with Mr Brumby, new Respect Minister Justin Madden, Education Minister Bronwyn Pike and students at Footscray City College to talk about what respect meant to them and what they could do to increase it in the community.

But his desire to get Victorians to respect each other fell on deaf ears during a rowdy question time, with Ms Thomson being warned for shouting

The Australian last month revealed that the Premier's "respect agenda" was the exact title of a program developed by former British prime minister Tony Blair and subsequently dumped by his predecessor Gordon Brown.

It's looking worse for Brumby by the day.

http://www.theage.com.au/national/baillieu-faces-onslaught-for-remarks-on-violence-20100209-npqx.html

In a co-ordinated attack, government ministers accused Mr Baillieu of cynically manipulating race issues to make cheap political points.

"Ted Baillieu has called Victorians racist," Education Minister Bronwyn Pike said. "I'd like to ask Ted Baillieu to name those racist people, maybe it's my next door neighbour, maybe it's someone's mum and dad, maybe it's somebody's friends."

===

That's an easy one, Bronwyn. Their names are Bill and Bob and yes, they live next door to you.

Any truth in the rumour that Ted Baillieu and John Brumby went to to school together - were in the same class and also there with best mate Thwaites?

Any idea which exclusive private school all three attended together?

Brumby the working class man...leader of the Labor Party of Victoria. The guy is only premier because Bracks left him the vacated chair. The guy was never good enough to win an election. We'll see this time around.

Ahh smell that election in the air.

Existing rail crossing in Altona to be removed

By Kevin Gomez on 9 February 2010

THE Victorian State Government is funding a $48.5 million project to duplicate a 2.1 km section of Kororoit Creek Road between Grieve Parade and Millers Road, Altona and to remove the existing railway level crossing. A new bridge will carry Kororoit Creek Road over the rail line.
The project will complete a fully divided route along Kororoit Creek Road between Laverton North and Williamstown. Major construction is expected to start early 2010 with works scheduled for completion in late 2011. The project also includes new on-road bicycle lanes and improvements at the Grieve Parade and Millers Road intersections.

Once complete the project will deliver:

o Two lanes each way between Grieve Parade and Millers Road
o A new rail bridge to take the road over railway lines
o Minor upgrade of intersections at Grieve Parade and Millers Road
o Upgrade of existing Kororoit Creek bridge crossing
o Extension of the on-road bicycle lanes in both directions.
Apart from safety improvements, the elimination of the busy rail level crossing will result in better east-west links between the industrial areas of Williamstown North, Altona and the Princes Freeway at Laverton.
The contract has been awarded to Cut & Fill, a civil engineering company with projects across the South Eastern seaboard of Australia, particularly with the State Road Authorities in Victoria, the ACT and NSW.

Very good!! Your right.

All three went to the exclusive Melbourne Grammar School. So much for working class ALP representation.

But did you know Ballieu and Brumby and Thwaites were all in the same class!!

check this out.

So when the ALP label Ted a Toorak Toff - what they're really saying is Brumby is a Toorak Toff too - Toffy schools, Toffy addresses and Toffy friends.

Now it's all starting to make sense why the ALP are so much like the Libs and visa versa!!

Are you serious?

A 13% swing in a safe Labor seat?

How is that possible?

What tipe of swing do the ALP have to loose for Altona to become a marginal seat.

Re:State Election 2010 4 Weeks ago
the demographic of altona has changed alot in recent times. the altona seat includes suburbs such as altona beach, sanctuary lakes and point cook. these suburbs have seen alot of migration from the eastern suburbs in recent times who are traditional liberal voters, not to mention that the average family income in these areas is quite high. in other parts of the seat such as hoppers crossing and laverton, residents are quite sick of labor's soft law-and-order policies, public transport etc. these elements combined will result in a large swing against labor in altona.
