Yes, I saw our Bill quoting this on Q&A last week. In all fairness it was one of his better Q&A appearances except for this clanger. He was really scrabbling for evidence of ALP environmental credentials. The Solar Schools program had huge potential, which, as is now becoming usual, Labor stuffed the opportunity because it really does not have a commitment to climate change mitigation. The Q&A audience always includes a huge contingent of environmentally aware people, this is not a forum to get it wrong.
And now they've also reduced the Insulation rebate. Gotta luv those ALP environmental change credentials just crumbling away by the day.
Let's see, they won't support a national feed-in tariff; they slashed rebates on solar panels; they slashed rebates on insulation. Climate Change, anyone?

At least Shorten takes the childrens' services part of his appointment seriously. Having kids is good job experience.

Where is Bill when the social housing issue hits the fan? Will he be at the Council meeting Monday night to explain the impacts of the federal social housing stimulus on Sunshine his patch and his dumping ground.

LOCAL GOVERNMENT (BRIMBANK CITY COUNCIL) BILL 11/11/09
because the real villains here have not been exposed. They should be exposed, and a royal commission would expose them. I am talking about people like Bill Shorten, Stephen Conroy and Brendan O’Connor. These are the puppet masters behind the scenes.
Their activities would stump Batman and send Elliott Ness to a home for the permanently bewildered, such are the activities of these sorts of characters in the Brimbank area. They have not been exposed; they have not had to face justice as they should.

While Bill is honeymooning his new bride let's not forget another milestone for his faction yesterday.
It was Ken Capar's thirty-ninth birthday!
Yes, Shorten's disreputable little footsoldier, still being "investigated" by Labor's municipal inspectorate for his work in bringing the Brimbank Council down.
Happy Birthday Kenny! I bet Bill didn't even send you a card.

Apparently Bernie is a fan of Margaret and Marion. below is the direct continuation of bernie's speech re brimbank on 11/11/09.
As in a good many movies there is an element of tragedy. Perhaps the most tragically afflicted in Brimbank -- the Movie could be the councillors who have been sacked. As I mentioned earlier, these councillors were sacked largely for the sins of the councillors who went before them. Councillors such as Margaret Giudice, who I regarded as an excellent mayor of Brimbank when she held the position, and Marion Martin, who was newly elected to the council. They were sacked, but they were without guilt. There is no justice when people are sacked for somebody else's crime.

I think this is what Marilyn Canet was referring to, in an earlier post. I'm glad to hear that she has written to Bernie to clear this up.

Bill Shorten promised the poor suckers who voted for him that he would do something about the high unemployment rate in Sunshine.
Well suckers, what has he done? Read on!
http://brimbank-leader.whereilive.com.au/news/story/sunshine-not-shining-in-jobless-figures/
SUNSHINE’S latest unemployment figures have hit double digits, more than twice Melbourne’s average of 5 per cent.
Sunshine came second on 10.8 per cent, according to recently released Federal Government Small Area Labour Markets figures for June 2009. But while Dandenong and Broadmeadows’ unemployment rate dropped slightly from the previous year, Sunshine’s jumped 1.4 per cent.
And Sunshine’s total unemployed overwhelmed totals for every other Melbourne suburb.

You know it is amazing that people who write on this website say eveything but the truth.
Margaret and Marion's status as far as the Labor Party is concerned in their business and no one else's. Stop being such a busybody and write about something important!!

Bill is just another typical ALP pollie. He says whatever he thinks will increase votes for him, just like most ALP pollies unfortunately.
The only time, if ever, that ALP pollies bother to step in and fix/improve anything is when the negative media publicity begins targeting their lack of action on such matters and issues.
Thats the truth im afraid. If you want my advice, if you want a better community with better resources and improvements, then at the next election dont vote Labor.
Its as simple as that. Just dont for the liars.
Just my thoughts. Cheers.

Bill Shorton talent featured heavily in last night's Four Corners program on the ABC which looked into his portfolio of Disability Services.
Bill came over as he always does these days - full of crap and platitudes and no solutions.

What an embarasment Bill Shorton was last night on four corners last night. He just could not of cared less about
the plight of parents with children with such severe disabilities. What beautiful people who are only worried about their kids future in care. Shorten the dud.
