When walking through the McKay Gardens in Sunshine the other day, I couldn't help thinking they must have been very grand in their original state. But they are in a fairly poor state now. (Leaving aside the garbage and so on) the gardens themselves are in need of serious work.
I noticed a number of trees have died or are very sick, some trees are missing - presumably died and were not replaced, the bed plantings look very tied and need weeding, and so on. I'm not a horticulturalist myself but maybe someone out there is. I'd be very interested to know if anyone has any information on the original design of the gardens.
