COMMUNITY confidence in Brimbank Council has declined significantly over the past year, according to a survey.
Satisfaction with the council's overall performance dropped considerably from a score of 6.46 out of 10 in 2008 to 5.71 last year.
"Fundamentally, the survey results show council services are improving, we have a strong sense of community and our residents are generally satisfied with their standard of living and health," Ms Sussex said.
Meredith's right but there is a heck of a long way to go to break out of the cycle of disadvantage
the ONLY WAY that will happen is if the POLITICS of the western suburbs change and SAFE SEATS TURN MARGINAL as the only way additional funding comes along is at election time if you live in a marginal seat.
If western suburbs residents want a better future and not keep falling further and further behind cmmunities living in marginal seats they need to VOTE MARGINAL at the victorian and then the Federal elections.

Cleaning up
NON-BATTLERS Peter Kavanagh and David Hodgett aren't the only state MPs raking in the rent with 10 properties to their names (Diary, last Tuesday). Cleaning-company lobbyist Theo Theophanous has "interests in a number of houses and land" in a Northcote street — at least he's loyal to his electoral habitat, unlike reference giver Telmo Languiller who represents Derrimut but lives in Middle Park — and Theo also owns a holiday pad and land in breezy Anglesea. If Theo ever wants to call in a professional to give these properties a good clean, he can turn to his pal, mop mogul George Stamas. The Age

Thanks Sean for taking the time to download those photos of Hampshire Rd, Sunshine. I've been wanting to do the same thing but never have the time. I walk down Hampshire Rd every week and every time am disgusted with the filth I see. Where do I start.... the graffiti and chewing gum spots that decorate the street, the litter piling up in every corner, the drunks that sit outside Celebrations from early in the morning, the dodgy repair works on footpaths/paving all over Sunshine (which amazes me how council gets away with it, it's so cheap and nasty)??? I honestly haven't seen anything change since their so called 'clean-up'.
I see a lot of potential for Sunshine, it's just a shame the people running the show can't. Maybe if they actually LISTENED and took note of what residents are saying, we might see some improvements...
